Experienced Freight Forwarder – Rail

We need to strengthen our organisation with an operational resource in connection with the development and growth of our activities. We are therefore looking for a Freight Forwarder who will work operationally with rail freight assignments for our customers in this product area.

As Freight Forwarder, you are responsible for the overall control of the customer’s flow of goods and you work daily with customer and supplier care, right from booking to final billing. You will have regular contacts with customers, terminals, suppliers and partners.

Areas of responsibility

• daily contact with suppliers, customers and partners

• booking of domestic rail freight and road transport assignments

• Billing

• some sales and quotation activities

• follow-up on results

• participation in customer visits

 

The position is located at our Gothenburg office, and you will report to the respective manager in your department.

This is a permanent position with commencement as soon as possible.

Your background

We are looking for a person who has minimum two years’ experience in working with freight forwarding and preferably also previous experience with rail freight, including goods trains.

Post-secondary education and training in logistics or freight forwarding is highly advantageous.

 

You should preferably have the following qualities

• positive, thorough and service-minded personality

• strong personal drive and the ability to make independent decisions

• good computer skills

• good knowledge of both oral and written English

• business acumen

• good communication skills

• solution-oriented person with great customer focus

 

You have the ability to see the long-term effects and further consequences of individual cases and adjust your actions accordingly. You are calm, stable and in control in stressful situations. The role requires that you are a team player who sees opportunities and solutions instead of obstacles.
